netCorps Data Recovery and Re-installation Policy
netCorps Data Recovery/Re-installation Policy
netCorps has two recommended methods for full system recovery or for the reinstallation of the operating system on a client computer.
- Drive Replacement and Data Restore
- Drive Backup and Data Restore
Drive Replacement and Data Restore
This is the safest and most effective method for full system recovery and for reinstallation of a computer operating system. netCorps replaces the drive in the computer with a new drive, installs the operating system, installs all applications, and restores user data from the old hard drive. netCorps retains the old hard drive for two weeks in case there is additional data that needs to be recovered from the old drive. The old hard disk is then returned to the client or netCorps recycles it for use in another computer. The cost of a new hard drive ranges in cost from $50-$75,usually, depending on the size and model of the drive.
Advantages
Recovery of all data and a copy of all data that remains on the old hard disk
Installation of a new hard disk with a manufacturer's warranty of, usually, three to five years, depending on manufacturer.
Old drive data will not be lost due to overwriting the old hard disk
Faster turnaround time (time is not spent backing up the old drive)
Drive Backup and Data Restore
This method is effective, though slower. The old hard disk is backed up in its' entirety to a netCorps server, the old drive is then wiped and netCorps installs the operating system, installs all applications, and then restores user data from the copy of the old hard drive. netCorps retains the copy of the old hard drive for two weeks in case there is additional data that needs to be recovered. The cost to backup the old hard drive data is usually $40.
Advantages
Recovery of all data and a copy of all data on the old hard disk
Old drive data will not be lost due to overwriting the disk
netCorps will retain the old hard drive, or copy of the old hard drive, for two weeks. This is done in case there is additional data to be restored, or in case of accidental data deletion from the recovered system by the user.
