LEAP History
In early 2005, LEAP became a project of NetCorps after having been the North Carolina Peace Action Education Fund’s primary program, known as Peace LEAP, since 2000. The need to build even stronger organizations and movements working for peace and justice is a primary reason that the Boards and staff of the North Carolina Peace Action Education Fund and NetCorps decided to combine our work and make Peace LEAP a project of NetCorps.
From 2000-2004, under the leadership of Executive Director, Bridgette Burge, Peace LEAP helped dozens of advocacy-oriented nonprofits from different sectors of the North Carolina social justice movement connect with community members and work smarter, not harder, for a better society. North Carolina Peace Action Education Fund (NCPAEF) is proud to have established Peace LEAP in NC as an effective and powerful grassroots-organizing tool and NetCorps is excited to extend its broad range of capacity-building technology services to include list enhancement.
