New Websites Engaging Students, Youth and Activists of all Ages
Over the last few months netCorps helped launch new websites for the League of Young Voters, the United States Student Association and the Alabama Rivers Alliance.
All three sites were developed with and are now managed by Plone, an open-source content management system that allows these organizations to easily update their websites right from any web browser.

The League of Young Voters site is a graphically rich site full of community contributed video, audio, photos and commentary. The site is structured around both national content as well as content from the (currently) eight League affiliates, which can be accessed from the national site as well as by going directly to an affiliate site (the New Mexico affiliate site, for example, is http://nm.theleague.com). The site offers hip, fresh content by and about progressive young people working to change politics as usual, driven by a flexible and feature rich website.
The United States Student Association, the country's oldest and largest national student-led organization, recently launched a new site complete with news feeds, blogs, visitor polls, video, event registration and more. Staff wanted an easy to manage website that was quick to learn and allowed fast publication of content, especially when legislative issues are coming up before Congress or at the state level which would impact students.
The Alabama Rivers Alliance launched their redesigned website just in time for River Revival, their annual bluegrass festival and benefit. The new website offers information about ARA programs and issues impacting Alabama as well as a calendar of upcoming events in Alabama and around the Southeast that site visitors can also subscribe to via RSS.
