TAPP 2007 Summary and Application
Project Goal
To assist six (6) non-profit organizations’ uses of technology by analyzing their current programs and technology and suggesting improvements and implementations to be made over the next two-three (2-3) years.
Process
We will assess the organizations’ existing technology, programs, and practices to suggest possible areas of implementation and improvement to enhance their missions with more efficient use of technology through the processes of:
- questionnaires and or interviews of staff and key volunteers and board members
- assessment of existing technology and usage
- assessment of current organizational programs, practices, and implementations of technology.
Each organization will receive a written report based on our assessments. NetCorps will dedicate 20-40 hours to each organization for the completion of these activities.
Organization Requirements
Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply if they can:
- provide current 501(c)(3) status letter and financial statements
- have a physical address of the organization (not a P.O. Box)
- show proof of attendance of a staff member for at least one of the three project workshops
- commit 20-30 hours of one staff member’s time dedicated to assisting with the project (depends on organization size)
- commit up to 3 hours time (each) from ALL staff members and key volunteers and board members for group meetings and individual communications
Timeline
Phase I – Trainings and Application (April-May)
- April 12 – 2pm-4pm - Technology Planning: Infrastructure, Training and Support
- April 24 – 2pm-4pm - Technology Planning: Information Management
- May 8 – 2pm-4pm - Technology Planning: Communication Management
- May 21 – Application received deadline

- Week of May 21st - Committee meets to select organizations for TAPP
- May 30 – Notification of participant acceptance; project materials and introduction for selected organizations
- Week of June 25th - Committee meets to review TAPP progress
NetCorps and the selected organization will determine the date the assessment will begin for that organization. At which time, specific dates for the activities below will be agreed upon. Tentative TAPP timeline:
- Week 1 – Initial meeting (2 hours); Inventory and program details due
- Week 2 – Interviews (2 hour slots); Organization receives interview summaries; Comments from organization on summaries due
- Week 4 – Organization receives draft assessment report; Comments from organization on draft report due
- Week 5 – Organization receives final assessment report
- Organizations submit their Project Implementation Plans to request funding from Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro
